The location, comfortable accommodation, excellent food and friendly staff
Dislikes:
The lack of access to the Internet. More than likely due as much to poor coverage by my internet provider as well as the location of the Inn. This a minor problem.
Response from The Boatside Inn:
Hi Thank you for your kind comments. Yes we do have a problem with the Broadband this is due to the location of the inn. We actually have 2 lines into the pub to share the traffic but unfortunately this still gives us problems. BT are our provider and they are currently looking into providing a dedicated line into the pub so hopefully this will solve the problem - it will however take a few month. Fingers crossed it will work!!!

Two nights at the Boatside with my dog Gemma. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Lovely room, comfortable bed, big bath with endless hot water, hearty pub food, excellent real ales, and friendly, efficient service. Great location in beautiful countryside, great for exploring Hadrian's Wall and lots more besides. Very dog and child friendly too. Read less

Our first visit to the Hexham area. As Canadian we were not familiar with how buses and trains in England work. Everyone at the Inn was very friendly and kind and provided us with helpful information to help us navigate the area. Our walk along the North Tyne was very delightful.
