The room was fantastic. Spacious, light, airy, all the facilities you could want. Set apart from the main body of the hotel but only a step across the courtyard for dinner and/or drinks.
Dislikes:
Whilst still good we did not find the food quite up to the standard of last year. No doubt a change of chef since then!!!

We enjoyed several evening meals during the week, just a shame we could only manage one course on the wonderful home cooked food! All the staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The Boatside Inn was recommended by friends. It's in a good location for Hadrian's Wall sights, for walks and is close to Hexham. The food, evening meals and breakfast, was especially excellent.

We stayed over night whilst cycling the Hadrian's Wall C2C route. The location of The Boatside Inn is actually on the route itself and secure storage was provided for the bikes and kit. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable with everything provided. Food at the pub was top quality and there was ample for 3 very hungry cyclists. The proprietors and staff were very friendly and approachable. Read less
