The cottage style accommodation independent of the main hotel building and the friendly staff who made us so welcome,excellent food including the best Sunday lunch by far.

B&B Room was spacious, staff friendly beyond our expectations, superb dining onsite at the pub (huge portions!), staff knowledge of the area and their recommendations of places to visit
Dislikes:
Although the B&B rooms are next to a rail line, the rooms were dounble glazed and noise was minimal. i would not let this distract you from booking here.

Our accommodation was self contained, had a huge bed, was warm and cosy. We had fresh milk with our tea tray in the room, staff were all very friendly, ample parking and good walks nearby.

Thanks very much for your comments. firstly may we appologise for the breakfast. This is not our usual standard. Having spoken to the chef he thought the instruction was to be well done. Obviously this was not the case. We look forward to seeing you again in March. There is WiFi but accessible only in the main building not in the rooms.

A railway line runs behind the accommodation but this did not pose a significant inconvenience during our stay. The Inn is well placed for touring Hadrian Wall and the surrounding countryside. It is also only a few miles from Hexam. Read less

room was clean, very well decorated. staff are VERY friendly and helpful. facilities clean and modern. (bathroom is cold even with heater on)
Dislikes:
food & drink expensive, the locals were complaining at the prices of food & drinks.portions were too big,so you either eat it all & feel uncomfortable or leave lots on the plate. not ideal.

Hi Ms Moodie many thanks for your comments. Our food are large portions but can also be given as half portions. Each course is prices separately so you can have as little or as much as required. The comments on the bathroom is there is a heated towel rail and a heater on the wall. Normally this is sufficient. If there were any issues and we were made aware we could have provided extra heat if necessary.

We were impressed by the friendly staff and the couple in charge were very amenable. In the restaurant the attention was very good and the young man waitor who looked after us was inobtrusive.
