The location is idyllic for country lovers and everyone, owners and staff, are very friendly and welcoming. Food is locally-sourced, good and portions generous. Even the weather was amazing, for March

Dislikes:

The hand held shower in the B&B could do with replacing with a thermostatic electric model.

Friendly welcome, very accommodating. We arrived early as going to the races and owner made sure our room was ready to check in to and went out of his way to arrange a taxi for us. Room was fab - loads of space, very clean and had everything you could need. Pub was lovely too, very popular with the locals. We didn't have the pleasure of dining there, but the sunday roasts looked fantastic. Breakfast was very good and plentiful! Would definitely stop there again if visiting the area. Read less

The room was excellent size with a large comfortable bed. We had dinner in the busy restaurant where we were looked after very well. The surrounding area is lovely.

Dislikes:

One of the bath taps was dripping which we mentioned when checking out.

The accommodation (Hadrian) was very warm and comfortable, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The "courtesy tray" was the best we have ever experienced. Our stay was a celebration of our honeymoon and both our birthdays. The owners and staff made this celebration something very special indeed. This was our first visit to Northumberland, but we will be back and staying at Boatside Inn too. Read less

Added money for our dog which was not mentioned anywhere.Also they said we had a free starter and main meal on our first night which turned out to be the cheapest meal free

Dogs are welcome on a discretionary basis. Clients normally call to ask if they are welcome and at this stage they are advised that there is a charge. We noticed on your arrival that you had a dog so the charge of £15.00 was added to your account. The winter warmer special offer includes the tabled'hote menu on the first night as advertised. We also extended this to the Mothersday menu with your arrival on Sunday 18th March. This includes a two course meal for 2 people.

We had two nights booked and the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom facilities were beyond our expectations. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept so well. The bar and restaurant were very nice, good quality real ales and the food was well cooked and presented and the portions were most generous in quantity. All the staff were very pleasant and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Read less

Everything from the room to the food to the real ales to the resident big dog that frequented the bar! The breakfast was especially very tasty and filling.

Dislikes:

Lunch time in the restaurant was very noisy due to a number of babies crying. However the staff relocated us to a really nice table in the bar area near the wood burner which was a lot more pleasant.
