By Car
  From Newcastle take the A69 west towards Hexham (approx. 20 miles). Continue over the Hexham roundabout for a further 2.5 miles, taking the second turning right signposted Warden. Carry on down road towards Warden till you cross a bridge over the river Tyne, and the Boatside Inn is just across the bridge.   From Carlisle take the A69 east towards Hexham. Approx. 5 miles after Haydon Bridge and about 2.5 miles before the Hexham roundabout, take the left turning signposted Warden. Carry on down road towards Warden till you cross a bridge over the river Tyne, and the Boatside Inn is just across the bridge.

By Rail By Bus
  The nearest train station is at Hexham (3 miles), and is on the main Newcastle to Carlisle line.   The local Arriva service from Hexham to Newbrough stops outside the pub. The service currently runs until 6pm Monday - Saturday no 804.  
 
Airport Sea
  Newcastle International Airport (just north of Newcastle) is 35 minutes drive away   The ferry terminal at North Shields is approximately 50 minutes drive away.
